I was wanting a little lift for my truck, I know all about torsion cranks but im a little cautious because of my cv's. Do you think a one inch crank will hurt my cv's or will I be ok?

A one inch crank will not hurt your cv's especially if you have locking hubs mine have been cranked for two years no problem. I would go with a ball-joint spacer instead, it gives you more travel and lifts like a torsion crank there only 119$. www.sdori.com/

Do you run these spacers on your truck? I would like to see how they work. I'm trying to figure out how they give you more articulation. Would be interested to see them in action.

I don't know if they really increase articulation all that much, but they are a good way to get a little lift without cranking the t-bars.
you can get the 1.5" lift but leave the t-bars at stock setting. You can keep current ride quality where as the t-bars crank will be a stiffer ride and may decrease articulation. I would think they would increase articulation only compared to a t-bar crank. I'm no expert though.
I have them on my truck but I am still working all the bugs out after lifting it. Hopefully in the coming weeks all the bugs will be worked out so I can see how the spacers really work.

for the same money u can buy better T-bars. Sway away 26mm offer about an 1.5" lift plus a great ride. i think www.truckperformance.com has them for 100 bucks. easy install

I dont currently run the spacers; but a friend does and he has not had any problems with them. They give 1.5inches more of downtravel(I dont know the physics behind it)But I have seen a picture with a truck on the lift and with one control arm with the spacer and the other not; and it was apparent that the one with spacer was drooping more. New torsion bars are great if you feel your front susp. is too soft except....whenever you crank torsion bars for lift it takes away downtravel and gives you more uptravel. Downtravel is more important in twisty terrain to keep your tires on the ground. I have gotten stuck while a 88 4runner with just a BL has gone through the obstacle with little drama; because of my lack of flex. If you want more info on the spacers goto ww.yotatech.com they have lots of Q&A's on them.

I WENT WITH THE DOWNEY T-BARS AND CRANKED IN ABOUT AN INCH, THE DOWNEY BARS COME WITH LOW PROFILE BUMP STOPS FOR THE TOP A-ARM SO THE DOWNWARD TRAVEL ISNT LIMITED. I HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH RIDE, TRAVEL OR MY CV JOINTS .

Where do ya think downey gets thiers from. i have found that sway-away makes them for allot of after market companies to put their names on them.

yeah, its very possible that downey doesnt make the t-bars and actually gets them from sway-a-way, although the sway-a-way's are 25mm and the downey's are 26mm. I have heard that the downey bars can be too "bouncy". (see banshee45's article) The reason I chose the downey bars is the "poly snubbers" come with them and at the time they where only $108, it turned out that I like the ride a little firmer.

sway-away make a couple different size T-bars. the ones they make for downey and NWOR are the 26mm. I think the companies special order them that way. I think we both agree that the ride is better over stock cranked t-bars

NOTE: the diameter of the torsion bar is directly related to the spring rate.
By increaseing the diameter you increase the springrate, but ist not linear (because the crossectional area doesnt increase linneraly as you increase the diameter)
I belive im running the 25 mm version and am happy with the onroad performace, but unfortanly with the current tweek i have on them i can NOT max out the front bumpstops before i pull a rear tire off the ground. (ie it seems to have limted my articulation some)
btw ive been running them for a year or more now and they dont seem to have settled much.
