Ive heard that cranking your T-bars give you problems with your alignment, is this true?

I don't know about it messing with the alignment, but it does make your ride stiffer.

;D Yes, it will change your alignment angles due to the change in ride height. This is correctable but you'll have to find a competent shop in your area to do it. BTW, give the shop you choose some time to figure out YOUR truck. Later...

I agree with the above post about having your alignment reset once you crank your bar !!!
ABSOLUTELY jack your truck up first before you crank on the T-Bar adjusting nut, so you don't snap the bolts and put a hella strain on your bars !!!

I recently replaced mine after my stock ones sagged out BAD after the ARB/winch i put on the front. I busted one of the bolts trying to get it off and had to wait 2 days for the parts to come in.
Sence then ive made adjustments both up and down while the truck was on the ground, but that was with new bars, and freshly anit-sized bolts. they now turn with about a 1/4 the force it orginally took.
Cranking the torsion bars DOES NOT change the spring rate of them, you are just adjust the amount of "pre-load" you put on them.

offroad.com's toyota section has a good article on cranking the t-bars. it says that you can safely raise the truck i" without really hurting ride comfort or over stressing the bars.on stock trucks the measurement from the top of the rim to the bottom of the whel well shoud be 13.5 or14" so crank'em up. I'm thinking of cranking mine and adding on some 2" or 2 1/2 shackels. and suggestions.

I did a 1" torsion bar crank today. Its a little stiffer. Does anyone know if this will hinder articulation any.

Mine are cranked all the way tight. I do have a rather stiff ride, but it does work well. I am now running 33" tires without any lift in the front except the crank. It does however, put a hell of an angle on the CV joints, and I have only gotten about 30,000 miles out of a set of front axles since.

;D Loosen up those bars, pound the body seam flat, do a little trimming & you've got clearance + ride. W/a 1" B/L, my 33's fit niiice! Later...
