Many of you probably have changed the stock shocks. What did you get ? Why did you change it ? Are you satisfied ?
Leave me any feedback... thanks in advance !

I have pro comp MX-6 adjustable shocks w/12" of travel. Why? Because my suspension mods dictated the need for a shock at least this long to have maximum articulation. I am satisfied? No, not really. I mean for off road they are fine, but on road they suck. During the initial break in period they were fine on road, but after a few months they started to heat up and have fade on highway trips. Usually it will start after about 20 minutes to 1/2 hour of driving. Since I don't run sway bars I understand it must be putting a lot of extra work on the shock dampening the side to side roll, but I'm still unsatisfied. When funds allow I will be upgrading to 14" travel bilstiens in the front and 12"ers in the rear.

I upgraded to Rancho RS5000's. They are a good shock in my opinion, but as with most offroad shocks, they are stiffer than the stock shocks. I changed because I got the set for free with less than 5,000 miles on them (roommate put a suspension lift on right after buying them, so he had nothing to do with them).

;D I've got Rough Country Hydro's on my ride & have no complaints. The PO had gas-magnums on & they rode like a brick. I've had Rancho 5000's on another truck & ,IMHO, they are waaay too stiff. My friend, Swang, has Bilsteins & he loves them. As w/everything, it comes down to what you want/expect out of YOUR ride. Later...

I currently have edelbrock shocks and I really like them. I first replaced my worn stockers with the cheapy model pro-comps and really disliked them so much that I took them off after 200 miles. The ride was very harsh. I replaced the fronts with edelbrocks and it made a night and day difference, so i got the rears too. The only drawback is price. If i had to do it again I would probably get bilsteins just because i've never heard anyone really complain about them and they are cheaper than the edelbrocks.

Im runnin 12" travel 5100 bilsteins. I really like em so far. I was going to run the 14"ers but I would have had to cut holes for them to fit. So I stuck with the 12's.

i bought a set of monroe reflex shocks and could not be happier. they are a bit pricey, at $80 a peice, but i got them but 3 get one free, but they have a lifetime warrenty accepted anywhere they are sold. i really like the fact they have the metal sleeve instead of the rubber boot, as it has saved a shock, that before i lost. there are a bit stiff , but on road they never fade even after the 2 1/2 drive to college, and they even raised my truck about an inch and a half "i compared pictures" i just really like these shocks, and they are as good as the the day i got them, even after numeruos jumps over the railroad tracks by my house.
