Well I solved my problem of losing so much oil and found it to be the gasket on the oil pan. It's leaking down onto my skid plate and thats why I couldnt see it leaking. Anyway is there anything else that should be replaced while i have my oil pan off other than the gasket itself? nothing outrageous ofcourse but something cheap that might need replacing while Im down there. Thanks

How do you plan on removing the oil pan? I have the 22-RE and im alos loosing oil from the pan gasket. To me, it seems that there is next to no room to move the pan aronund with all the ifs crap in the way. My idea was to unbolt the motor and transmission mounts than hoist it to get some more space to work. Lel me know if you have any ideas or what you think of mine.

What I did was remove the skid plate the steering stabilizer and the pitman arm and idler arm and didi it that way. You have just enough room to clean both surfaces. Also when if your truck is newer than 85 it does not need a gasket, just go to an auto part storeand buy silicone gasket maker. If you want to take it all the way out you have to lower your differential along with the other stuff i mentioned. Good luck, took me about 2-3 hrs

DO NOT put in a gasket. i put in a new gasket, a cork one, when i dropped in the new engine. bad mistake. went out and bot some rubber or silicon gasketglue or something like that, and it worked so well, im using it almost all over the engine now: water pump, oil pump, even around the injectors. definitely use this mess, youll never replace the gasket again.
