I just wanted to know what you guys thought is the fare market value of this 4runner I am trying to buy, (trying to get a second opinion). The beef: 88 4runner SR5, 22REC, 5speed, 4x4, 176k, no frills interior, all seams to be in good shape except that it has a little rust on the left front finder, the rest of the paint is good with only a few scratches, and the mirrors are missing. The kicker: blown motor, salvage title, and doesn’t come with any wheels and tires. The guy insists he can get a $1000. out of it. I offered him $700 and he woln't take it. BTW, this is an Ohio truck. What do you guys think? Thanks, Josh

personally, I wouldn't buy it unless it atleast had some tires and wheels, etc. One of my friends got a '86 4Runner that ran with tires and wheels and everything for $700 here in North Carolina. So, there is a little something for you to compare it too

;D I live in PA. Face it, we live in the salt damaged truck belt. Unless you're willing to do a frame up, walk away. Just my humble .02. Later...

In that shape I wouldn't even offer $500 unless the body and frame and everything else were in very good shape.
Run, don't walk, away from it.
