You guys know I recently bought a Grand Cherokee right? I'm thinking of slamming it, you know, with hydraulics. I want it scaping the pavement when I roll through my developement. I'm gonna black out the windows and put one of them gold crowns on the dash. Then maybe a big AR symbol across the windshield. Nothing cooler than turning heads with my ride when I'm at my local Target. I'll be the coolest dad in town.
(for those of you who are unsure.... it's sarcasm - although I do own a GC)

Mike,
This is the land of bling for SUV's. Glad you came to visit, wish I knew you were in town.
Some look ok, but others look over the top. At least these guys know they aren't going off road. SUV's became ridiculous when the Cherokee came out with a Limited package and every snob with a Platinum card went out and bought one and raised the price of the cherokee and other SUV's followed suit. The Worst was the Land Cruiser, which was one of the coolest early SUVs, but was sacrificed for the wealthier crowd.
Does the GC look stupid in your photo, I'm getting so used to seeing that around here I'm getting immune. Blame Truckin' Magazine for the confused approach to trucks now. Low or High but no inbetween. I would say that SUV is mall approved.
At least you guys on this site are real.

not only is the guy confused, but he couldve at least got some good lookin rims.. i live in Hawaii, and out here the whole street racing thing is in style.. so of course you got ur Hondas/Acuras etc.. what blows my mind, is that i see a lot of dropped trucks.. even Yotas.. why on earth someone would want to drop their truck, i dont know.. haha.. theres a good sized crowd of 4 wheelers here and "big truck" enthusiasts, but we're greatly outnumbered by the rice rocket regime.. just like i saw on one of the trucks in the photo gallery here, "lowriders are for guys who can't get it up."

All I can say is that there are major $$$ being put into the aftermarket. It can only help us in the end. Later...

kinda off topic Mike, just wondering why the GC? I'd personally go for a 4Runner or an older land cruiser if I needed a "big" SUV

Believe me, I REALLY wanted a 4Runner, as did my wife. We looked around alot and had a hard time finding one that was in our price range (remember price is ALWAYS a factor when you have kids). This is the wifes ride, and she wanted certain "features". The 4Runners that were in our price range didn't seem as "nice" as the GC we got. Also, the 4Runner was a little to much of a truck ride for her. She wanted something a little smoother.
We got a good deal on the GC (limited, V8 - What did you call me, a "snob with a platinum card" I think) that she really liked. Honestly, I liked it too. I still do. Our dream though is still to one day own a new 4Runner, or hell if I'm dreaming, a new Land Cruiser or Sequoia.
Life is about choices and priorities. Keeping the wife happy is both my top choice, and top priority.

snob with a platinum card - I knew there was something strange about Mike. LOL Thats good stuff. Glad you got the GC with the V8. Didn't care to much for the 6. We used to rent them all the time.

Yea, the 8 has a lot of power - we might get a trailer for it. But, the gas mileage sucks real bad. 12 - 14 mpg.

Sorry Mike,
If it makes you feel better, I own a 2001 Cherokee and have a platinum card. But I was referring to the early 1990's Cherokees before the GC came around.
I would agree the ride for a GC would be better than the 4 runner, but my problem is that every time the Cherokee goes to the dealership for regular maintenance the trip costs at least $300.
