Im thinking about bypassing my Cat on my 2000 taco, but I have a few questions if any one can answer them. The exhaust system has some electronic stuff before and after the CAT. If I by pass the cat or take the cat out will it affect anything electronically? And if so is there some other way I can get around it. If anyone knows any thing about that i would appreciate your help.

;D Letting you know upfront, I'm going to sound like an a**hole. Not meant that way. But, WHY in the world do you want to defeat a FEDERALLY MANDATED piece of smog equip. that has NO impact on how your truck runs??? FORGET the old school!!!! The cats on the newer stuff are designed to do their job w/NO impact on performance. Put your time & $$$ into other mods that WILL have an impact on your rig. Later...

I just put the cat back under my 96 Taco with the v-6. I didn't notice any power increase with it off, if anything I lost a little power and gained noise. Not worth fooling with in my opinion.

I think it would cause all kinds of problems with the computer. The second O2 sensor is behind the cat and would be relaying bad information.
