Hey guys, today was another one of those rainy/misty days. Bad traffic but great 4 wheeling ;D. Driving to work this morning I had something happen that happens almost all the time and I said to myself damnit i wonder if anyone else has this problem. If i'm turning on a fairly damp road, and I have it in gear giving it light throttle, my back end starts to slip all over the place. I was wondering if anyone else has this problem. I still have about 50% tread on my tires so I don't think that could be a problem. Usually I could care less if i'm making the back end slide, and usually i'll do it just for fun ;D, but today it happened on the highway, and I don't care for that too much....especially during high traffic times. I would like to blame it on the light rear end, but I'll see what ya'll think also.

Chad, Happens to me ALL the time. I blame it on the light rearend, and my heavy foot. But, I will say that the problem has worsened as my tires have worn. I too have about 50% tread.
You're not alone.

Could all depend on your tread patten too. I've had some brand new tires that felt like I was driving on oil and some like the Big-O XT that I have now that I have to really punch it to get them to slide and they got let then a 1/4 tread left.

Yeah it is pretty common. Although I rented a chevy extended cab truck the other day for work. It had a v8 and that thing was horrible. Talk about easy to break loose. I could be doing 30mph in a straight line and hit the gas and start spinning. Kinda fun for a little while then you realize its really uncontrollable. Of course a locker in the rear can be fun sometimes as well going around corners when you hit the gas at the wrong time.

I was supprised when my 4 banger did a 180 when making a left turn on a busy street. I didn't think I would need to worry about this sort of thing.

I know a lot of people have that problem up here in the Rockies of Colorado when theres Ice, what we do if its icy is throw a couple 50lb sandbags in the back of the bed, it puts a little more weight of the tires and helps reduce it, just a thought.
