Does a 1997 Tacoma 4X4 have a limited slip differential if it is not a TRD?

As far as my knowledge goes it can b/c it's an option. The easiest way to find out is to look to the left of the steering wheel on the console and see if theres a button to engage it. If theres not one more than less it ain't got one.  thats how it was set up on my buddies any how.

don't listen to the other post, that is for the locker only. if you don't have a button on the dash then you don't have the locker. a lim. slip is a option for the truck. the way to know is look up the codes on the the truck and call the stealership and ask them to break down the codes.
