in most you are paying for sound and maybe some better MPG> but you can make a sytem that will give you some more HP. But alot of people lose HP when they get a different exhaust red

Thanks again Redtoy92. Any suggestions though? Cat back. I don't want to get into the whole header ordeal. After reading that link I left, I looked at Gibson?

When I looked for a header for a 1997 Tacoma with a 2.7 liter engine it showed that it would gain more horsepower and also more torque. I think it would be a good upgrade.

I am also staying away from headers because you always end up with a leak, etc. But some do run them and never have a problem. I am getting a flowmaster 40 series and bending my own cat back 2.5. you can do the same at a shop and they should do it all with parts and labor for under 200 red

You can gain HP only if you replace your complete exhaust system manifold back and you have to know how to adjust your hedders properly anything else changes MPG and SOUND.

Ya unless your running a big v-8(which most of us Toy guys arent) you dont have a whole lot of backpressure and you cant expect big gains from an exhaust, but, with an intake and an exhaust your rig will breath better, sound better, gain 1-2 mpg, but minimal power increase.

I can honestly say my toy has never not had the power I've needed......if anything my clutch is the weak link, makes me wish i still had my automatic. Not only that our little V-6's crank out a lot of horsepower, I think 195 is the number i've heard.....

yeah 195 is about right but that is at the fly not the rear wheels. Also just get a clutch upgrade when the time comes for a new one! I had done that on both of my toys and it makes a huge difference. you run alot smoother and transfer the power better! red
