Fuel filters are pretty basic....I don't really know of any to avoid since it's a pretty common part, you can get performance fuel filters but i don't think they're any better then just the stock ones you can buy at an auto parts store.

yes there is ............. use a toyota filter for fuel oil and tranny do not use fram i've read some bad stuuf on them and had a bad time with one on my first taco it would not run right so i changed it twice with a fram and said to hell with this buoght a toyota fuel filter and like magic ran great so stick with toyota parts and oil filters for sure and i read about some junk filters for the tranny too so.if you cannot get toyota filters i would use napa stuff that stufs pretty damn good later duane

Hmm, interesting, I've used Fram ever since I got my toyota and everything runs fine.....even runs great....maybe you had the wrong size....as they say...size does matter.

Definitely stick with OEM filters... people have done numerous test on various filters and found that OEM still does the best job. While we're on the subject of filters, www.bobistheoilguy.com has done some great tests on various oil filters.... (hint: Fram sucks!)

;D Just my .02 I put a Baldwin fuel filter on a perfectly running vehicle about 2 months ago. It WOULD NOT run w/that filter. Put the OE filter back on, ran like a champ. I did a tune-up(plugs, wire, cap, rotor) on my truck last weekend using Toy parts & the difference is very noticeable. Sorry, but the extra $$ spent on the right stuff is $$$ well spent. Later....
