Hey guys whats up, im new to this forum and had a question. Im in the market to purchase a new tacoma and im having a hard time deciding what to buy. I want a 2wd regular cab, i just cant decide on the standard or he pre-runner. What suspension goodies does the pre-runner use for the extra $1000. If i buy the regular one i would want to put the 2.5" KING coilover and buy the fender flares. Somebody help me out with which one would be a better way to go. thanks! Heres a link to the shock: kingshocks.com/tacoma%20shock.html

if you buy a pre-runner there is no need for these because it comes with the TRD suspension package and rear dif locker in fact if your buying a 2wd you have absolutely no use for these they are for a 4x4's not mall cruisers they are for suspension lift and they would give you a stiff ride hope this helps

King coilovers are probably the best coilover on the market for our Tacomas. If you buy the prerunner you can use any lift that is for a 4WD truck, and there are plenty of people that lift and wheel their prerunners. If you buy the mini 2WD I believe Fabtech is the only one who makes a lift for that application. Oh yeah, and the Kings will not give you a "stiff" ride. Hope this helps you out a little more.

First off, a 2.5 King coilover is an overkill from hell for your truck! They look cool and all the wannabe "Prerunner" guys think that "King Coilovers" make them a racer. If you just want to "parkinglot pimp" your ride like all the rich highschool kids in my 'hood, then go with the King coilovers. If you really want a great ride and offroad performance, yet drives nice enough on the road that you wouldn't be embarrased to take a lady out in, then try something like the OME's or even something like a Bilstein or Fox (They may not make a set-up for the Taco, I'm not as familliar with the Taco). Basically, unless you are actually "prerunning or just racing in the MDR Prerunner class, or the like, ignore the hype and go with something right for you and your truck/driving skills, not your prom-king neighbor. If someone thinks the ride is "too rough" or any other ride quality is not what they desired, then they did not know enough about spring rates, valving, and etc. to find the right setup for their truck and driving style/level. So again, ignore the current "King coilover" trend, and do alot of research on more than peoples oppinions. Make sure not to overlook all the small but important details like spring rates (usually given in a pounds rating), valving (usually given in a ratio of Rebound newtons/Compression newtons), and the drivers' driving style and primary vehicle use. Sorry the reply is so long, but I personally have many friends that have gotten caught up in the "King Coilover" trend and are not happy. I would hate to see ANYONE buy something they don't need because it is "cool" or "the fad" thing to have. Research, research, research! Good luck and I hope this helps everyone a little.
