i was jsut wondering what type of mods people have done to there 05 tacomas. im intrested in the 4cyl mostly as that is what i have. Also if any type of i guess autolockers are available for the rear end on these. comming from the import ricer world a couple years ago we always called how those opperate a lsd. not an open differential but a closed one. where both tires will spin at same time and even if one breaks free the other still gets traction and both can spin at different speeds. i guess in the rwd/truck world these are known as autolockers. so are there any available for the rear ends on 05 4x4 tacomas? ive looked at some brand websites and found nothing. figured someone may know more. also looking to see if anyone is trying to make more power out of these. specificly torque for some more pulling power. thank you.

I have the same question. I just purchased a 2005 PreRunner TRD with the V6. I would like to give the truck some attitude. Anyone have any suggestions on a good quality intake system and nice sounding exhaust system? And what kind of warranty problems am I going to be running into if I install this stuff?

K&N makes an intake kit for the 05 V6. They're like $230 on Ebay.
Then you could replace the exhaust system. TRD, Borla, and Magnaflow make cat-back systems.
You won't have any warranty problems unless the dealer can prove that the aftermarket parts was what actually caused the problem. If you're still worried, before you have to take it to the dealer put the stock parts back on.

I've talked to the Toyota HQ and they state if any mod is added to the vehicle, it will void your warranty! Of course, then I talked to the local Toyota dealership. They state that if the part is installed by a Toyota craftsman, then the truck remains under warranty. Who knows huh?  |

Thats not true check into the Massy-Fergonson Act i spelled it wrong i think but it gives details on mods and warrenty info
