ok has anyone else had this problem when i hit the breaks and my blinkers is on it clicks as though the bulb is out but only when the break is being applied and one of my running lights is out even after i replaced it with a new bulb. also when i hit the blinker my break light blinks?? I assume i have a short but i have no idea where to start looking my only guess is it looks as thought someone placed an aftermarket trailerhitch on their and they messed up the wires their. but i'm not to good with umm electricity any suggestions. and as a side note what does the tow package include becuase in my owners manual it says somthing about the bar connection the cooling fan being a certain color but i thought all it was the hitch?

It sounds like someone didn't do the trailer harness correctly. I would take it to a truck accessory place or someone that specializes in trailering. Also you might want to look into getting a painless trailering wire harness from Hoppy. It plugs directly into the tail lights so you really cant mess that up. Other than the harness I would say you have a horrible short in the taillights somewhere and would take a professional to find it.
I bought my 02 Pre-Runner brand-new with the towing package and all they said came extra was the transmission cooler. The hitch didnt even come with it. I have never herd (not saying its not true) of a different fan. Maybe I should check my owners manual.

i'm not that sure that it's a differnt fan persay but in the manual it says that the gear i guess it's called is a different color. I'm thinking maybe it's just an easy way to umm check and see if it has it or not.

alright guys after two days of trouble shooting a burnt finger and about 2000 headaches i figured out my blinker problem. Who ever owned the truck before me is a tard. He obviously blew the read light out somehow so instead of buying an 02 replacement he bought a different year tail light. In which case the wiring did not meet. I had to cross some wires and create a new ground but now it works fine. The only problem i realized that if i blow them out and need to buy new ones i'll have to undo what i did becuase i have no idea what year he put on their. But their it is by the way i hate whoever owned this truck before me.
