I have the 0-3.5" Fabtech Performance lift on my 98 Taco. I need to replace all the shocks on it. However when I tried to get shocks I was told I could buy rear shocks no problem, however I would have to buy a whole new lift if I was to replace the front ones. ? So I would appreciate a little help with a store or anything b/c I don't want to replace my whole system. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've always thought that the coilovers were rebuildable. How old are your shocks as I too have a 3.5 fabtech performance lift? Did you install it yourseld or did you have a shop do it? Maybe you can take it to the shop that installed the lift if that's the case.

I was able to finally get through to the guys at Fabtech and was told to order a new set from them and then to send my old ones back. They would refund me the money. The shocks were only about a year old. They were taking a pretty darn good beating though. Another tip I was told was to always keep the seals around the top clean as this will help to promote the life of the shocks. So I am defienetly giving the Fabtech people and lift !!!!

"was told to order a new set from them and then to send my old ones back. They would refund me the money"
Be carefull with that one. I'm not saying anything bad about this particular company....but any time a "company or distributer" wants you to pay up front for a replacement, it leaves the sh*t on your end of the stick. Your "reimbursement" may come to you in the form of store or company credit. Large companies (that do not sell directly to the end users(such as Fabtec) have no way of cutting you a check. It's just not possible for tax/accounting purposes.
But, from the sounds of it, your shocks wore out. They really don't wear out too often. Something happened to them. Over extention maybe??? That's how I've killed almost any of mine.
Just Idea's and Suggestion.
