Hey all,
I would really like to get a 4Runner, but i do not want to have to deal with the high gas mileage.
Are there any parts that i could add to increase MPG??
Thanks -Jordan

So you don't want to have to deal with the "high" gas mileage, not sure what that means. I just got my 99 4Runner and I'm getting 19-22 mpg. I don't think that's high, but it could be a lot lower.
You could always do exhaust, Amsoil drop in air filter, maybe throttle body spacer.

Are you talking about a catback exhaust or what? Anyone know what Amsoil air filter would go in a 2000 3.4 V6 4Runner? What does the throttle body spacer do?

my 01' is stock but for a drop in K&N, we get between 18-22 also. i was very happy with those numbers. we have considered doing exhaust and see what it does but i doubt that much. add some Downey headers and you'll probably see more of a difference. a really good tune up helps also.

so far the biigest gain we've gotten from any mod has def been the replacement of the clutch fan and installed the electric fan average about 5mpg and around 20 HP The TB spacer gave a small gain maybe 2 to 3 mpg and this is very questionable.
