sorry if this is a repetitive question, but my 01 4 Runner seems to ride harsh and the steering is twitchy over rough surfaces. i just put new tires on it and had everything checked out. is there anything aftermarket to help soften it up?

First what tire pressure do you run? sometimes just running a little lower pressure helps or you can upgrade your coil springs and struts go with Old Man Emu for the coils(they are the only one's I know of) and the same or Bilstien's for the struts either will soften the ride for ya.

Your steering issue could be a steering dampener or stabilizer as most ppl call it. It sounds like you are getting a slight bit of bump steer. Sometimes your steering box will loosen up some and need a slight adjusting to rid some free play that has aquired over time.

thanks, i will look into the stabilizer, not even sure if it has one. we haven't had the truck very long, so i'm not real familiar with it yet.
