umm before the sun came out sunday i measured 13 in spots 11 in others..depends on where it stuck first.
We had a blast saturday night! Went out on my buddies 400 acre farm, had a huge bon fire, went wheelin most of the night burned upa whole tank of fuel, came back and drank a few brews
It was a fluffly snow so once the temps went up it settled a lot. We still got about 7 inchs or so still on the ground..but not for long with this 60 degree weather and rain movin in.

You guys would really like it where I live. Right now we have probably about 3-4 feet of snow. Its fun snowmobiling in it. You can go just about anywhere. I drive mostly on the lake but I like to go drive on the islands too. Its fun going out and driving around on the lake with a truck in the spring when its melting and the lake is just covered in slushy snow it just flys everywhere. Heres a pic of the lake from earlier this year. And this one is from when I went out in the spring ice fishing. I wish I would have had a digital camera then so I could have taken more pics and a video.

My cousins in MN spend a LOT of time out on the frozen lakes at one of the lakes he has a cabin that sleeps like 6 people his mother thought he dissappeared he decided to spend the entire winter on the lake trying for some kind of light tackle record.

By any chance are the lakes(ontario) in the lake Muskoka region? Looks real familiar. Then again, cold water, no or little topsoil and no plant life, basically covers all the lakes in Ontario east of Michigan. Thanks for the industrial revolution and its pollutants!

The lake that I live on is pretty close to the border with Manitoba. Its called Rainy Lake. Its half in the US and half in Canada. Its a fairly big lake. Three main parts each about 40 miles long. Around here there are litterally thousands of lakes. Most of the aren't fished and quite a few of them are perfectly clear. My dad and my grandpa both have planes on floats and we use them to go fly in fishing into the small lakes. I just got my pilots license this summer so Ill be flying my grandpas. Im not sure where Lake Muskoka is. Im in Northwestern Ontario. Im in Thunder Bay right now but when I go home its about 4 hours west of here.
Hoodlum Where in MN are your cousins at. Those little ice huts are fun to fish in. I know some people who have tvs in them. When Im not here at school Im on the border. The town Im in is called Fort Frances and the town on the American side is called International Falls. This year we dont have a whole pile of ice on the lakes but 2 years ago I think we had 5-6 feet of ice in some spots. It was a real good year for hauling stuff across the lake.

5-6 feet of ice? Damn.... That's just insane. I've always thought hell was hot? Goooood thing they make synthetic oils.... Lake Muskoka is due NE of michigan Ie: Lake Huron, Georgian Bay I guess Tundra is Tundra. Water is the same.... You can damn near see 20-30 feet to the bottom. I know I saw an anchor and tried to swim down to it. (water got colder and colder until I couldn't stand it...) I hit maybe.... 16-18 feet and was far from it and too FREEZING to get there... Mid August the lower water(8 feet and below) was only 50*(F) MAX. I was BLUE upon surfacing! Stew

That year we didnt have much for snow so there was no insulation. I wish I had synthetic oil in my truck. It hardly wanted to start one day that winter. One night last winter was -52 and that morning we decided to go out and cut some wood and the only vehicles out of my 82 pickup, my dad's 80 pickup, his 91 pickup, moms 01 chevy malibu, grandpas 92 pickup and grandmas 05 matrix that started up were my 82, the old 80 that the frame has broken in half on before and the 05 matrix. My moms car would barely turn over and for some reason the 91 and 92 wouldnt fire. But the old trucks started up and ran. They are tough. And none of these were plugged in. There are a few lakes around here that are just perfectly clear. Its amazing that in the winter you can drive a 25 ton backhoe on the ice and in the summer you can swim in the lake. Ive been living here my whole life and it still amazes me how everything can freeze and thaw that much. Its not all bare and cold up here its just a whole pile of trees and lakes. A few summers ago it got to 104*F in Fort Frances. Your right about the swimming down in the lake and freezing haha. It gets cold 20 feet down. I try not to dive any deeper than 10 feet unless its a really hot day. ;D

This year sucks for snow...Everytime we get a good amount it melts...I've only put 400miles on my snowmobile this year... I'm ready to start on my truck again unless the weather changes soon.
