My dad works for a welding and gas supply company, so my set up was basically... well, completely free.

I know it wouldn't be as effective but bang for buck wouldn't it be easier to use an air pig? You could fill it up at any gas station for free.

I've tried the air pig(the smaller one) it was ok but doesn't hold enough to air up all 4 tires where the co2 set up holds all you need

I've had a CO2 tank since January. I've done a lot of airing up and down. I've even run air tools off of it. I just had to have it refilled for the first time 3 weeks ago. I love it! Beats a compressor hands down because of the speed of airing back up.

i was going to go with a compressor but after seeing the cost of everything i went co2 and love it plus the fact that i have more than 1 rig i can remove it from one and put it in another

That is an awsome idea! Finally a truly cheap mod that you actually need! Thanks.

also you can use old free-on (sp?) tanks from Heating and Airconditioning companies. They usually just throw them away. It seems like they are about the right size.

u need a regulator. i would get a pre set one because of reliability. then just the standard adapter to put on an air line. if you wanted you could run a distrubution block and have different places to hook up

another good plaace ot check out for co2 tanks , is paintball stores , they now have tanks that can hold up too 5000 psi and are fairly compact and they have the regualtors at the stores too, they are a bit pricey , but they can be purchased used also .

OK then just find out who supplies them and you'll get them cheaper I used to be involved with paintball and they mark their stuff up alot so in reality they prob aren't all that expensive GOOD IDEA I completly forgot about them little cylinders

Just be carefull with the small novelty tanks and reg's. They are not set-up for high volume dumps. The reg's will freeze up. A little dangerous. The reg's on these units are typically cast. Not good. Crack/leakers Look for machined billet manifolds. Go to the welding shops. Not pretty, but used 40lb tanks are only around $100 with reg filled. Just need a little paint. Stew
