I got the same tires with the black steel rims and spent right around 800 bucks on them. Make sure that the wheel weights are on tight. I have already lost all of them and have only been driving my truck for 2 days.

hey bamatoy, how bad was the balance before and after you lost your wheel weights? and... same tire? or same tire same size??? I surely hope a 31'' tire is not that far off of natural balance from the factory. Just wondering if the weights fell off or where thrown off or of they were ripped off(not stolen duh?).

i've got almost 200 miles on them so far and absolutley love em. grab and dig like mad, throw mud awesome, and look cool too. they 'float' a little at highway speed, but i still need to chalk em in a parking lot and make sure the pressure is set right and all... they do sound awesome at any speed, tho... they hum loud enough to be heard, but they're not TOO obnoxious... i still need to sipe them. saturday morning i was going around a super sharp corner when the road was still a bit dewy. i started to fishtail real bad and, to avoid running over a civic ( ), ended up in the ditch. so i got out, made sure everything was still attached, started it back up and drove out... man i love my toyota!

thanks. they're actually not running boards, tho, they're nerf bars... believe me, if they were running boards they would've been off a long time ago. and until i get/make some real sliders, i'm gonna keep the bars on... they've saved my rockers some damage a couple times, so i figure it's worth having em till i get something better.
and just an update, i've got about 1500 miles on the tires now, and the words on the tread (swamper, tsl) just wore off the front tires, and still readable on the back... been out wheelin several times, and except for popping one tire off the bead once (my fault, lowered the air pressure too much) they've never let me down. awesome tires!

I've started saving for tires and I'm thinking of buying some 31" LTBs as well, how noisy are they on street, how do they ride on the highway? this is my daily driver and am looking for a cheap mud tire ;D

my personal opinion, with my truck being a daily driver, for $100/tire, you can't beat the LTBs. as far as road manners, you won't mistake them for an a/t tire... they get flat spots in the cold, which smooth out after a couple miles. they're a little bumpy, being bias ply, but no more than is to be expected... being a little wider than stock, they tend to track a little more on the freeway in grooves and stuff, but it's not a big deal. and for noise, you can definately hear them, especially decelerating around 25mph, and cruising around 60-70 mph, but you can still have a conversation over them easily. i think they sound cool. ;D ;D so basicially, i love my LTBs and would buy them again if they made a 35", cause i'm lifting my truck this summer, and going to that size... sorry that was a little long winded, but i wanted to give an accurate description... hope it helps ya!

Hey Drum, tires look awsome, how many miles do you think you will get out of them? I am looking for another set of tsl's for my 85 runner/DD. My 81 has 30x10.5 tsl radials with roughly 33.000 on them, great tire for anything! Thanks, Trav ;D

Hey have you checked out all pro offroad? they have a bunch of neat stuff. you could easily build your own rock sliders though as long as you or a buddy know how to weld a good place to check for scrap metal is places that build things like holding tanks or if they have a bunch of semi trucks around a place of that description I custom built my rear bumper out of four inch by four inch square tubing and it works great

yeah, i've checked out all pro and marlin and a couple other places and think i've decided on a 4crawler-type style, but maybe with round outer tubes to match my rollbar and pushbar... just need to get a welder and learn how to use it now ;D man, 4"x4" rear bumper? that thing must be a beast! thanks for the input!

I'm on my second set of LTB's, this time the 34x10.5x15's while my first set were the 31x11.5x15's. I LOVE these tires. They perform like no other. However, they do have their shortcomings. I live in the snowbelt (Minnesota) and have found them to be less than ideal in any accumulations under say 3 inches. After that though I am better off than just about any vehicle out there. They are also loud, but you fall in love with the sound. As for balance....well....my 34's took the maximum 2 lbs they could fit on the rims and still weren't quite right, but it's liveable. Tires shaped like that are going to shake and shimmy no matter what. I got about 30,000 miles out of my first set, but they were BALD when I replaced them....scary bald....I did also use them though. They were experienced tires....My 34's seem to be wearing about the same. The middle tread is wearing slower, but my 31's were on 6 inch wide rims....never lost a bead, but it was hell on the center tread. My front tires are wearing a bit funny, but EVERYTHING is worn out....balljoints, tie rod ends, control arm bushings, idler arm, and even the pitman arm. Needless to say, I don't fault the tires for the wear pattern. What will be the true test is in 3 weeks when the SAS is done If you REALLY want to do us all a favor, keep applying pressure to Interco to make a bigger LTB. They have the 47's on the way....now lets try for a 35-37

cool I forgot to ask about how long they would last an that really helps and out here in oklahoma we don't get more than 6 to 8 inches of snow a year here so that isn't a big problem for me by the way how do they perform in the mud do you personally think they are better than a dunlop mud rover because im trying to decide between the two im really looking for a good mud tire ;D

4inch by 4inch isn't really that big for a bumper, id send you a picture but not sure how to post a picture yeah, you're right, i don't know what i was thinking... send me a picture and i can post it for ya if you want me to. drumbum@praisemail.com. as for mud performance, i've never used the mud rovers, but if i were a bettin' guy, i'd bet any kind of swamper would outperform a standard m/t tire in the mud. that's what they were made for.
