this is probaly a stupid question, but whats the difference between radial tires and directional tires... are directional tires the same thing as bias ply tires?

directional tires can be radials or bias. it has to do with the tread. for example the pro comp X-terrians are a directional tire, while the goodyear MTRs are not. they are both radials.

im looking to get some of the nitto mud graplers... the shop that im getting them from has radials for $280.00 and directionals for $235.00... i was wondering if the directionals are bias ply. it seems that this is the case... but im not sure

The Mud Grappler is not a directional tire, and Nitto does not list a bias ply version, just the radial. This is a directional tire : And $280 for a tire ? My 36" TSL radials were only $200 ea.
