I'm thinking of purchasing a set of mickey thompson classic 2 and was wondering how much backspacing on a tacoma 2002 4x4 crew cab i need? i will be purchasing the 16x8 wheels. Thanks in advance Terry

I would say 4" of backspacing I have 4.25 and wish I would have that extra .25"

4" of backspacing would mean that the tire sticks out further from the vehicle, is that right?

Backspacing is the distance from where the rim mounts to the inside edge of the rim.... if that makes any sense. If you lay the rim on the gound, with the side that the brake would be on up, then put a board across the rim, and measure down to where the lug nuts would be, that is your backspacing. chad

i think I get it had to google it a bit though.. so the back facing up the shorter the back space the more the wheel is pushed towards the fender away from the frame.. here is a link i found.. www.rsracing.com/tech-wheel.html
