Alright here it goes I'm thinking about doing a 5" suspension lift on my 2002 tacaoma 4x4 trd offroad package. I'm thinking a 3"add a leaf pack 2" greaseable shackles in the back and some bilstein 5150 shocks. But i'm confused on how to do the front the only kits i can find cost roughly 1200 bucks is their a way that i can do it right but for a lil bit less money??
I dont' really wanna half ass it due to this being my dd and for that same reason a sas is out of the question i'm looking at speniding around 1200 for the front and the back is this possible??

that's the problem with the ifs, there isn't many ways to lift the front. if you go with the route u said for the rear all i think u can do is get some ball joint spacers from www.sdori.com and maybe crank the torsion bars like an 1" or so or maybe run dual shock mounts on each side. i went with the spacers and a body lift and shackles. i know places around here do suspension lifts and it will lift the whole truck. your best bet would probably be to find a place that does suspension lifts. here i can get like a 6" skyjacker kit installed for like 2000. just my .02

I don't have torsion bars. So the ball joint spacers i can do and then some new springs and shocks. and at 5" of lift would i need to worry about the angle of my cv axel? it's a DD

mine are fine and i have 4.5" lift on my dd. i would get a 2nd opinion on whether runnin dual shocks would give you the amount of lift you want just to be safe. the largest ball joint spacer they sell is 1.5" so you're still gonna have a problem with lifting the front. a place i talked to said i could get a 4" skyjacker s/l for 800 and installation was 300 so that's 1100. then the ball joint spacers could gice u the extra inch you want and the shackles in the back which is what i would do if i was stayin the the ifs. ask around some local places or w/e and see how much there s/l's are and installation.

well i plan on doing most of the work myself it's kind of a hobby so it's more fun this way to me so i don't really need the installtion stuff. skyjacker seems to be the way to go thought it seems a slight bit cheaper then the ones i were looking at on allprooffroad or suspension connection.
