Alright you guys who get to watch this show what do you think about it? I was at a friends house who has cable and we were watching them build a wedding chapel out of a suburban. Dude that sucked. Everyone was bitchin at each other about everything. Jesse got fed up and started bashin stuff and burning everything. Maybe I caught a bad episode but it sucked. Everyone was a freakin baby. Well the paint guy was cool...put a slick silver fleck paint job down on the burb. Come on cable junkies whats your take on the show?

I have seen all these shows... Monster Garage, Monster House, Orange County Choppers. Some of the garage shows are pretty lame, but there have been some pretty cool ones. Every now and then they get in a crew that works really well together and can build something totally wicked. Like a pontoon boat from a school bus, or a lawn mower from a Mustang. Once they did actually build a monster 4x4 - but I missed like 90% of the show. At the end, Jesse totally trashed the thing and busted up the driveshaft and most of the suspension. But, the thing did drive over top of normal cars like they were speed bumps.
Pretty cool.

Yeah I think i heard about the one with the 4x4, pretty depressing. I probably caught a bad showing. I would have liked to see the pontoon out of a school bus. i think everyone needs one of those...

Don't know if it's still on but,I used to love "JunkYard Wars".I think this was the original concept of this type show.It was from England originally.Every week 2 teams came on the show and were given a certain amount of time to build whatever type vehicle to perform a specific function. Then they'd compete with their contraptions. The show takes place in the yard & they have access to only what's in the yard.It was cool cause most were just middle class working guys, turned loose in a junkyard.(Like kids in a candy store) Seen some really cool stuff built.I 'd pick things up from it too.I do like these type shows but, yeah it sucks when you get a whiner or some spoiled punk in the groups.

Man I loved junkyard wars. That is such a cool idea for a show. Its really cool what people can come up with when given the right tools. ;D

;D Deep @ heart, we're all "McGuyvers". I love to make things work. So, I 100% agree w/Junkyard wars. I loved "Monster Garage" in the beginning. As said above, it's become a whinybaby, "I don't wanna", "I'm taking my ball & going home" show. I've read/heard about Jesse from way back & can't believe he's slipped to this. No matter what, it's still better than..."Let's see if we can redo this house while the owners are @ the movies"!!!!!!!!! Later...

Heh... Junkyard Wars was the original classic. I loved it... it has changed a bit, and doesn't get as much press as While You Were Out and Trading Spaces. Which, by the way, my wife can't live without.
But I have often thought that Junkyard Wars was rigged. They would come up with the perfect peices to complete some contraption that you know you wouldn't find in working order in a normal junkyard. Still fun though.
What do you think about Monster House? I like seeing the different technologies they use to get stuff to work. Like they used a garage door opener - upside down - to get a disco ball in the middle of the room. Fun.
Fred, you are right about Jesse - I saw a special on him years ago when he was building Choppers and this is a bit lame for someone of his ability.

Mike I hear ya about the wife loving trading spaces. Mine is hooked. It seemed like on junkyard wars that they stashed different variables of the right pieces to make something work. So it was up to the team and the scavengers to find the stuff. I know what your saying though...finding a engine that runs on first start laying on a pile, or a airplane wing for a glider.
I heard the reason Jesse trashed the 4x4 they made was because he thought it was dumb and didn't want to do it. It really isn't his specialty anyway.

;D Yeah, Jesse said on the show that the rockcrawler was "stupid" & he put extra effort into killing it. I LOVE Toy's but I'd still love to have that Bronco. If anybody's ever seen Shaq's bike, Jesse's Viper or any of the West Coast Chopper creations, you realize REAL quick how talented this crew is. BTW, while the old lady's watching TV, you're wrenching, RIGHT!! Later...

anybody that knows alot about our sport knows that everyone involved in the Bronco buildup just happened to be the best in thier fields (example, steve rumore of avalanche eng.). I personally was very pissed off when jesse "the Jerk-off" james completely destroyed what I saw as a work of art without even testing it's true capabilities. If I had the cash I would love to take a sledge to one of his custom bikes and laugh like he did when he killed the Bronco. I found it extremely disrespectful considering if I built a truck like that it would probably run me 80K once you figure parts and labor in the real world. Even my woman who doesn't entirely "get it" thought he was a tool. Jesse should stick to being a dick to bikers and his T-shirt sales.

Yeah... Its funny man...those guys act so freakin tough and talk a lot but are babies and whine when they don't get their way. I also would love to have had that Bronco. I wonder who actually has it now. I bet it's sittin in a back shop over at avalanche. Maybe i should shoot em an email and find out what became of it. ;D

they did make one other 4x4, it was a 78 stingray corvette, they made it into basically an all wheel drive dragster that put out somewhere in the 600 hp range, in the little competition at the end, they raced a bunch of jeeps in a meadow with a few puddles. it was more 4xfast than it was 4x4

Heh... i saw that one...
Did you see the Tundra mod they did? It was for a Terminator3 promotion I think. Basically, they made the side of the cab open up and have a motorcycle come out on a lift so it could be driven off. Then it could drive up and be lifted into the cab on the fly.
A little hokey, but cool to see them use a Tundra.

;D I Agree 100% w/the Tundra deal. They "picked" , were given, a Toy over all models available. & made it badass. HOWEVER, the show itself is getting way too "hollywood" . Later...

Yup, i saw the "slingray". It looked pretty bad ass, but did you notice that they never really put it in the mud? They drove it real fast through a puddle, but when it came time to do some boggin, the "slingray" was nowhere to be found.

;D We saw the "slingray" episode over the weekend & my old lady wants to know when she gets one for her DD?! Be pretty cool to take the kids to soccer in! Seriously, Mike's right. When the mud got deep, the MG crew got going. But, I'll say it again, MG sure beats most of the other crap out there. Later...
