It's a common complaint. Fact is that most people come here with no idea where to start. Many have never been to a message board and aren't familiar with message board etiquite. Our goal at TOR is to be as newb friendly as we can and help guide these lost souls to the light (or the search button).

I dont know how hard it would be Mike, but would it be possible to direct someone to a must read section right after signing up or something. I dont know if that is already in place cause its been quite some time since i have signed up and i dont know what has changed since you switched to proboards. But i would think something like that would keep a lot of the newb questions out of the way. I know its hard being a newbie...we all start somewhere. And its hard to suggest things like the search feature without coming across as being a prick.

The answer is right here at www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/posting.php (Item #2 specifically) This should be required viewing for every noob, and too many of the people that have been here a while. Maybe make it a sticky at the top of every forum (in big bold letters), or at the very least the Important Information Inside forum (anyone been there?) and the FAQ forum.
