Does anyone in here have any experience with High Point Firearms? I just purchased a 9mm compact. I have heard both good and bad reports. But it is my first handgun and I cannot justify spending big money until i have more experience. I've had 3 jams in 150 rounds so far, but it was cheap ammo. Opinions?

I myself do not have any expierience with your said handgun but if you go onto Tennessee off road's forum they have a thread dedicated to the hobby/sport. And plenty of knowledeged people there on the subject. I'll dig up the link tomarrow.

I can understand the attitude of being new and not spending big money on say a custom piece but spending a little more for a decent quality pistol you are going to enjoy shooting that much more. That being said i have no experience with that make but always remember handgun magazines rarely if ever trash a gun. If you read a lot of reviews you will notice that there are awesome reviews and there are good reviews, there is rarely bad ones. Because most reviews are of advertisers stuff. Do some searching on google, there is lots of handgun sites out there that you can get real reviews from people that have nothing to gain by boosting or thrashing the product. dream pistol

to be honest, i dont see a use for any of those weapon for civilian use other than sporting uses. they are what they are 'assult weapons' .I'm not saying they should be banned, but they should be regulated. and the Gov't has a right to know who has weapons of such caliber. i certainly would not want just any Tom, Dick or Harry out there to be able to go pick up an AK or any other full/semi-auto gun. they arent for everybody. the answer is not banning them, but finding a way to regulate them efficiently.

thats why we need to enforce the laws he have already. also fully auto isnt legal. all the firearms are regulated. assault rifled accounted for less than one half of a percent of all firearm crimes. enforcing the laws we have is what we need to do, and not just banning everything.hell more people were killed my roast beef then an assault rifle. Support your rights people

Everything I have read on these guns leans toward reliable for quality issues, also backed by a repair/replacement warrenty. why would they build junk and put a warranty on said junk, knowing they would be paying to repair/replace said junk free of all cost? yes, little bulky and heavy, but damn is it nice to shoot.

why would they build junk and put a warranty on said junk, knowing they would be paying to repair/replace said junk free of all cost? Its simple accounting and companies do it all the time. Say you have 15% breakage. Of those that break a percentage will end up in a drawer, shoebox or safe because not everyone bothers with warranty. If the cost of replaceing or fixing the left over percentage of breakage is less then simply building it better then it makes sense to do business that way so they can continue to make their price point. Higher end stuff you wont find that because their ability to move product is based on reputation. Low end stuff the ability to move product is based on their price point. Anything that brings down product cost while increaseing profits is looked at as a good thing from a business stand point.
