LOL Yeah the bumper is nice. Actually we were talking about how easy it would be to add to the bumper. I think I want to put on a stinger and some bars that follow the wheel wells and connect to the sliders. But that is another day Latest update... Last night I worked till 2am on the truck. It was a frustrating night. The driveshaft we had made was just a little too long. We also gave him the wrong CV. We thought the front and rear CV were the same. They aren't. So I took it back this morning and also talked to him about making the front driveshaft. We really wanted to have it rolling on the RTI ramp last night but it didn't happen. I worked on the brake master cylinder adaptor and Chris welded on some shock hoops. We also raised the rear of the truck a few inches. Sits almost level now. I'll try to snap some pics today in the daylight and post em up. Almost there...just getting the little stuff finished up.

Alright here is a pic of the truck at its final state. We still have some driveline and brake stuff to finish, but all the hard stuff is finished. Oh yeah...

I just can't wait to bring it home to me. Without brakes, I can't get anything else done. I'm swapping in a chevy 3/4 ton master cylinder but have to get the adaptors to make it work. I've made the adaptor plate to fit the booster but have to get line adaptors to go from 5/16 standard to import metric. Gonna take a break till after thanksgiving. You guys have a good thanksgiving!
;D

yesterday I picked up all the brake line adaptors i need to convert the Master cylinder on my truck. My wife's unlce owns the best parts shop in northern california Franklin's Auto Parts. Stopped in and spent some time digging through the brake line bins. Got a metric - standard coupler. I'll list the part numbers in my final write up. So when i get back home I can hook up my brakes. One more step closer. ;D

Quick update. I drove the truck home last night. Drives great on the interstate. I don't have a steering stabalizer on yet and it still does well. The brakes need tweaking. Had to adjust the proportioning valve in the rear and the booster settings. Drove it to work this morning. It isn't fast on the interstate but I do get to 75 every now and then. The 5.13 gears definately help but I could see even going up a little bit. But it will work. Last but not least is the front driveshaft. I need to go make some measurements and get one. We also still need to trim the body a little to make way for the meats. I'll try to snap some more pics soon and then get the write up done. Hopefully Ill have some wheelin pics soon. ;D

Nice work man, came out really sweet. I'd love to see a ramp comparison pick. What kind of shocks did you end up going with?

dude that looks sweet. do you have plans for the marlin 4.7 yet? your rig is going to be unstoppable. i really like the way the full size axles look, kind of intimadating. keep up the great work.

Yeah I need to do a ramp comparison soon. I'll have to trim a bit so the tires can full stuff. I went with Bilstein 5100 shocks. They work real good and I like the brushed aluminum look. I'm actually weighing the option of dual casing it right now. The reason is to move the front Transfer case flange back and reduce the driveline angle on the front driveshaft. Although that is another $1000 and more time. I would have to order adaptors and get one more transfer case. Then cut my rear driveshaft and make one for the front. I just want to wheel the thing . Ill figure it out soon and get some good wheelin pics. Thanks for all the positive comments. ;D

well shouldnt a 4cyl tcase mount up to your tranny? because you alredy have the marlin and i dont think you would have to modify your driveshafts just changing the cases. heck with a 4.7 i think that would be plenty to crawl, with out needing the doubler.

Actually the 4cyl case won't bolt up to my tranny. I have a v6 tranny. The 4cyl needs and adaptor and a 23 spline input shaft to bolt up to the tranny on mine. I also sold the 4.7 gears I bought from ya a while back. I guess I shoulda kept em but needed the money to get where I am right now. I can get a adaptor, 23 spline input shaft, and double case adaptor, but it costs around $1000 to just get all that and pickup another TC. Last night we fabbed a driveshaft for the front. We also got to put it on the ramp. I was extremely excited about that. We trimmed the fender wells and the tires stuff nicely. Here is a pic. It is at night so the quality is bad. Ill get some more later. I'm also working on the write up so you can see step by step what we did. Cost...well.. I actually told my wife in the beginning that i could do it for $2000. LOL Yeah I have $2000 just in the axles alone. LOL Of course I did save a lot of money having a friend who came by lots of parts either for free or for cheap. I traded lots of stuff for parts too. So Im not sure what all that would total. I have receipts for about just over $4000. The rest was stuff I paid cash for and didn't get receipts. I wouldnt be surprised to find it went to $5000. Here is the pic... before after

Thats badass, I'm going to have to say that you got a lot more flex out of the swap. I really want to do that someday, but until then its IFS for me

Your right that picture isn't real good, but you can't expect too much at night.
Great job, it looks good. Can't wait to see some action shots.
Wish I could find a good deal like that on parts. My luck on that sort of thing always come after I buy the parts new. Even some times with new part, they seem to have a sale on them after I buy them.

Man I am so freakin happy with how well this thing performs. I just got back from Summertown and loved every minute of it. I took some pics and I am also supposed to get some more from the guys I went with. We had a blast and did some great trails. The truck flexes better than I thought it might. All the clearances are good as well. I'm going to add a couple small bumpstops later and also a steering dampener. The picture below is off a small step going down a trail. There was another step on the trail where the rear of your truck lifts up and leaves the ground. Mine never got off the ground. The tire stuck. I love these All-Pro springs and Bilstein shocks. Work great. Anyway now I have some good finishing pics for the write up and will get it done soon. Later... ;D grinning ear to ear
