i need some help to figure out a problem. i got an 82 22r 5 speed 4x4 with a 4" lift and 35s. now i know i need gears but which ratio and will changing the gears effect the gas consumption? THank for your help.

I would reccomend 5.29 gears. Should'nt effect gas mileage in a negative way.

4.88 or 5.29, 5.29 especially if there's any chance you might go bigger than 35's later.
Gas mileage should go back up a little since the gear change will get your final drive ratio back near stock.

go with the 5.29's i was talked into 4.88's from the salesman i ordered my gears from and it was a mistake i find myself using low gear more and more with the 38's i have one it now but then i am runnning a 20r not a 22r
