Im looking into buying the north west offroad 3 1/2 IN front spring lift... Will i need to buy larger shocks? My 85 pickup ext cab has Rancho rs 5000 right now.. will these work or will i need longer shocks? Thanks fellas! www.northwestoffroad.com/parts/suspension3.html

Yes, you'll need longer shocks. You also might want to look at other lift kits.

not really any rock crawlin, not too many rocks here in nebraska... basicly i want to spend minimal $$ and run 33 in tires, some hill climbing mud, but truck will still be a daily driver. I would go with say downy but i hear they sag in minimal time... is this true? Performanceproducts.com has a lift of 3 1/2 but there is minimal information avalible on it. I want a 3 1/2 or 4 in lift with new front springs with all hardware, shackles, bolts etc, new rear springs or a block, but no ad-a-leaf. I found a rancho application guide for shocks, but if i want to buy other shocks how do i say measure the shock to purchase another one?
also my factory rims are only 6in wide, if i wanted to run 33x12.50 would i need a wider rim, say 7 or 8 in wide?

you would need either 8 or 10" rims I would go with 4" back spacing you can get white spoke or some call them wagon wheels for like 45 or 50 bucks apiece maybe cheaper if you look around

You're going to find that most of the less expensive bolt on kits will give a harsh ride. The more arch (for lift) the harsher the ride.

I would go with front springs from All Pro, Marlin Crawler or Alcan. All Pros $199 a set. www.allprooffroad.com/suspension_leafsprings.htmIf you are fine with rear blocks you can pick them up at pretty much any specialty parts store for cheap as well as the U bolts to go with them. I would run 8" rims with those tires. 10 are to big IMO. The look funny, don't hold the bead as well and expose the rim to trail damage.

on the site it doesnt specify weather they are 3 1/2 4 or 5 in springs... or is there options?? Can i stay with my factory steering setup with a 4 in leaf? How long of a shock will i need with a 4 in leaf no hanger?
