I am cutting out my fenders on my 84 pu to make way for my 34 supper swampers. The cut I am planning to make will pass right trough where the front blinkers are currently located. I was thinking about moving them in to the next slot in the stock front bumper where they would fit but im not sure if that is legal to have them so close together. Has anyone else mounted them somewhere different? Any suggestions for the back half of the truck. Possible problems I saw were the gas tanks line getting in the way and the top/inner side of the wheel wells. Did most of you leave just the cut metal there afterwards or put some fort of fender flare or rubber tubing to cover the cut. Just looking for general fender cutting advice this will be my first time.

On an 84 the turn signals (blinkers) are in the bumper.
The side marker lights are in the front side of the fender.
Do you really have to cut in that far?
To fit 36's I opened up mine by 2" following the lines of the stock opening.

Do you really have to cut in that far? ;D That would be my ? also. If you do need to move the turn signals: most guys take the single contact socket out of the running light(next to the headlamp) & replace it w/a dual contact one. This way you can run an 1157 bulb w/the low side running the running light & the high side running the turn signal. Later...
