It was a sucess. She purrs like a kitten now. No hesitations at all. Definetly can feel when the 2nd barrel kicks in. Both of the diapgram pumps were caked with crap. I had to adjust the float a little to. Now just have to get a manual choke

I tried starting it this morning and it wouldnt start on its own. I pumped it a couple times and is wouldnt even pop off. Gave it a quick shot of either and it started up and idled fine. I think that the diaphram in the fuel pump may be dry rotted a little from sitting. I have a spare going to change it and see what happens.

Okay I dont think it is the fuel pump. I dont think the acellerator pump is working. Without it running I looked into the barrels and pump the throttle it doesnt squirt any gas. It did this before I rebuilt the carb. I had it running and moved the acelerator pumparm by hand and it did nothing. It should of died because the idle didnt come up any. THere are no adjustments on the pump either. When I rebuilt it I cleaned everything and blew air threw all the ports and openings in the carb. Any ideas?

Maybe you didn't assemble the accel pump correctly. Because as you say it should give a shot of fuel down the throat of the carb. Maybe the diaphram you put on was bad to start with?

I put a new fuel filter on it . I put the acellerator pump together the same way it came apart. It was doing the dame thing before I rebuilt it. It doesnt make sense. I changed the fuel pump yesterday, now I need to try starting it up cold and see what happens.

I think I have it figured out. The passage from the accelerator pump to the carb throat has to be blocked. I took an old carb I have apart and inspected it. There is a really tiny opening that may be the culprit. Have to tear it apart this week and see.

My truck was acting up on me a few days ago and today I just took a hammer and tapped the carb a few times and it works perfect now. It was hesitating and stuff so I just gave a few light smacks and she runs great. I just got my new 92 project truck yesterday so now I've got lots to do .

I figured it out at last. I took the top off the carb and blew air threw the passages that go to the accelerator pump. One of them was plugged up. Runs like a champ now.
