I have a 85 with 22re in need of a transmission. I have a 94 5speed that used to be behind a 3.0. Can i use it? Will I have to switch the bellhousings? Cann that even be done? If it cant be done do i have to look for only a transmission from a 85 or from any 22re? Would the speedo cable hook up?
Please help guys

If I am not mistaken you can use the V6 tranny but you will need the bellhousing and input shaft from a 22RET. They used the R151F. The v6 uses the R150F. I'm pretty sure that is the correct info.

A W56 isn't too expensive. Craigslist or boneyards are your best bet. Stay with the top shift you don't want to deal with the G52 forward shift T-case.

Yeah I fix alot of forward shift T-Cases all the time. Mostly shifter probs too.

Well, I got tired of looking in junkyards so I called Marlin and got a turbo bellhousing for 175. I probably could have found a tranny, but I know the one I have is good, so I stayed with it. The only thing that sucks is the chain-driven transfer case.
