i was wandering if i should waterproof my front and rear diff, and if so is it a hard job. I was thinking of just puting some tubing over top of it and moving it to the wheel wells so its still gets some air ?

for the couple bucks and few minutes it takes, it's definately worth it. mkelly.proboards22.com/index.cgi?board=TipsTricks&action=display&thread=1068468601there's a thread that'll tell you all you need to know. i don't know about running them to the wheel wells, tho. it might act more like a funnel for all the mud and junk your tires kick up. just make sure they're out of the way and protected, and you'll be good to go!

I was thinking of just puting some tubing over top of it and moving it to the wheel wells so its still gets some air ? you only need it if you go in water deeper than your diffs ... if so go to home depot and get an 1/8" NPT nipple (or two ), it "bolts" right in ... then run tubing under the fender or hood and - bingo Matt

I used the 1/8'' NPT too but mine would not go in so i had to tap it out just a little bit. It almost fit but not quite. But they definately are a great idea. Even if you dont plan on going in the water there might be a time that you have to and you will be prepared.

i used the 1/8" npt threads on my '80 and it went in alright, except for it's a little hard to turn in cause it re-threads the brass a little bit... but on my friend's '90, we couldn't get it to catch so we had to run a die over the fitting to make it work right, no big deal...

I just welded a stainless steel tubing over the top of my stock breather and ran the line off of that.

Check out 4crawler.com I believe he ran his into where his tail lights are! that's where i ran the rear breather to. i pulled the tail light the other day to do some body work on the bed and it's still there, all protected and everything!
