Depends, what tranny and tire size you plan on using?

Depends, what tranny and tire size you plan on using? Yeah, as well as what kind of build the 350 has, most importantly the power range.

I was thinkin a 350 with EFI since the truck is allready a EFI truck with somewhere around 330-350hp. The tranny would be either a 4 or 5 speed chevy if i could find one or the standard tranny because i heard they could take the power if it wasnt pushed too hard. 33-35x12.50xR15 BFG Mudd Terrains would be the tire of choice.

ha ha
I have a 83 yota that I have put a 305 out of a camero , th350 with a 205 Tcase .. The problem is not gear ration . its drive shaft angles .. .if you put to long of a tranny .. turbo 400, 700r4 .. and like a 203 tcase .. teh drive line angles are stupid .... I also have a 4 inch spring lift and 2 inch body to help with the fitting of the motor ..... I have problems with my front drive shaft right now .. .but ... if I where you . .I would find a 205 tcase that will bolt to a 4 speed or something. .they were short .... And of course 205 Tcase ( the gear drive one) is pretty much unbreakable ...:-)
anyway .. my 2 cents ... good luck :-)

ohh .. and about the gear ratio ha ha
I have the 4:10's with 35in ch tires .... at its like 3100RPM at 1:1 .. .that is just fine .ha ha .. the 4:88 would be good for like 40inc plus ... but .... you might break them ;-)

I wouldn't worry about gearing until the truck is actually built and on the road. Then you can get an idea of rpms vs mph, and go from there.

I BOUGHT THE WIFE A 86 TRUCK WITH A 350/350 TURBO TRANS ON 35'S WITH STOCK GEARS. AS FAR AS I KNOW THE STOCK GEARING WAS WORKING FINE WITH 4:10 GEARS. THE TRUCK IS NOT ON THE TRAIL YET BEING THAT THE TRANS TOOK A SHIT WITH THE LAST OWNER. THE DRIVE ANGEL IS GOOD BEING THAT IT'S GOT THE STOCK TRANSFER CASE. YOU MIGHT TAKE A LOOK AT NORTHWEST OFF ROAD FOR TRANS AND TRANSFER CASE IDEAS. I'M SURE YOU CAN GET A SET UP USING A 5 SPEED AND A STOCK TRANSFER THAT WAY YOU WON'T HAVE A BAD DRIVE ANGEL. ANYWAYS GEARING WILL DEPEND ON WHAT SIZE TIRES YOU WANT TO RUN. MY 2 CENTS.
