I'm gonna hit the bone yards to find an 8" electric locker. If I can find a 4 runner or Taco that has one, I might as well grab the controller at the same time.
Does anyone know where the electric locking differential controller is located on 4 runner's, Tacoma's or land cruiser's?
Thanks

if your asking about the actuator it's on the dif housing (which you'll get with the whole assy.)otherwise all you should need is a couple of wires and a toggle switch to run it

Thank you. The bone yard didn't have any vehicles with electric lockers when I checked with them. They said they get $750 when they do have them

Id try going to various junkyards in the area that have tacos,4runners,or landcruisers then just physically look for the locker. Most junkers that know what your asking for, when you ask for the e-locker know they can make you pay out the ass.

Thank you for the information.
I bought an E-Locker that is in the mail as I write this.
I have found some sites on the net that show how to make a controller (It controls the actuator that locks/unlocks the diff.) for the E-Locker. At least one of the sites warns that if you don't make a controller, or use a factory controller, and just put power to the E-Locker without using the limit switches on the actuator, it can jam and will need to be taken apart in order to un-jam the locker.
I can make one of these controllers but it would be easier to just buy one at the bone-yard. Are there any problems that I should know about if I use the factory controller?
Does anybody know where this controller is located on the truck? I assume it will be under the dash or behind a kick panel
