i'm about to get my b/l put on and get 33x13.50x15 but i'm not goin to do my s/l until i'm able to do an sas. i was wandering if i should stick with the 4.10's with the 33's or get 5.29's as soon as i can. i plan on getting 36's when i get my s/l put on, so that why i'm askin about 4.10's or 5.29's. i know it's going to be off either way but i just wanted to know which would be better. thx (i drive a '91 longbed 4x4 with a 22re 5spd)

Keep the 4.10's with the 33's. Don't regear to 5.29's until you get the bigger tires.

Agreed.
I ran 4:10's on my 94 w/33's for 4 years with no major drawbacks. I did however, have sets of 31's and 235's for backup. I ran the 31's for long road trips and the 235's for towing. I live in central New York, so we have plenty of steep hills, just not as long as the Cali hills.
This combo will wear the clutch a little faster, but the clutch is cheaper than a gearset for the 7.5'' that you are going to dispose of anyway in the future.

hopefully my clutch will last until i do the sas and s/l and get the new gears. it's about a month and a half old since i finally burnt my old one up on the way to school one day. that sucked really bad.
