While browsing for a truck, I happened to come across an amazing deal on a 1984 Toyota. It had the engine upgrades like carb, intakes, and hedders, as well as front and rear bumpers, a roll bar, offroad lights, a 4" body lift, and 33" mudders, for $2500 The only thing is, it has Independent front suspension?? I have never heard of a pre 85 with ifs before, and I was just wondering if I would need a special SAS kit to swap it, or if the 1986 version would work Thanks in advance for the info edit:spelling

There's been a couple trucks on craigslist listed as '83s that are obviously the next body style, the '84-88 style. Maybe they got one of the '84 models that was made in late 83, you know, so if you look at the plate it will say December 83, but it's an 84 model truck. That's all I could think of. Some people, however, are just morons.

haha, thanks for the info guys. I decided I am not going to bother with that truck, I don't want to have to do a SAS on top of my lift, lockers, gears, and tires.

Dont give up so easy, get the vin and post it it maybe a rn6, some folks dont know what they have. Titles are not as transparent as you think, with years on them they can be swapped. Check it out and holler back. B

The ad says it's SOLD, so none of this matters.

sold since i last posted it. The reason i decided it against it is because its gotta be a solid axle, and a SAS is not too cheap

Solid axle is my choice. What your intensions with the pickup. I live in MIssissippi and the mud iand muck is aweful, with a solid I can use it like a tank, Crawling may be what your into, not many rocks or mountains in Mississippi. Just one big a** Indian mound over around Sardis lake, Never tried to climb it( dont want get a hex on me) but I can sling mud to the moon making tracks around it...well until we find the bottom and then its Backhoe time and lots of chains cables and cold beer.........last time was 7 hours diggin um out, gotta love. I.E. my wife was with me and my buddies wives where also, we didnt consume an adult beverages until al the trucks where mared in mud. After that we got the coolers out and the wifes took us back home with shame on our faces..lol.....DONT DRINK AND DRIVE. Play hard but leave the cold ones till the driving is dune, or the wife takes the wheel...
Billy I need to get some new pics of my Ride on here, do that soon as rain quits.
