Whats going "PING!" under my truck? (sounds like fun, right?)
-'87 22R, 5spd, 4wd, 277k miles
-its deffinitely driveline related.
-it will "Ping" only once, durring acceleration if I was previously decelerating in gear. or once while decelerating if I was previously accelerating in gear.
- it "Pings" in up shifts but not in down shifts
-and it "Pings" when I start from a dead stop.
-and its deffinitely a ping! (to avoid confusion with a clunk)
sounds to me like the drive line is taking up slack (thats the best I could describe it) like theres a space between teeth or gears that its rocking back and forth against durring the above conditions.
