will the diff's out of my 87 toy truck fit into my 81 truck?(front and rear)

The 87 rear drop out will fit the 81 front or rear. The IFS 87 front wont fit anything in a solid axle truck, except maybe in the box to haul it to the dump.

thanks 4 the info. ihave stock gears in the 81 and 4.88's in the 87 that i had dropped in just b4 the engine cracked.can i take just the gears out of the 87 and put them in the 81?

No.
The 79-85 trucks (solid front axle) use the same 8" (ring gear diameter) diff front and rear.
The 86+ trucks (IFS) use the same 8" diff in the rear, but the front is 7.5".
