anybody have any info on installing or making a cold air intake for the 3.0. the air flow meter is attached right ti the air cleaner box and im trying to figure a way to put one of those cone type air filters on and do away with the stock box

on some of the 80's model BMW cars had a piece that went from square to round and you mounted a cone filter on the end they even have the same bolt pattern as the toyota air meter look 4 them at a pull a part or just make one...the ones they sell on ebay seem to be junk

there is a website from a company in california, i believe it is " bomz racing" they have inexpensive short ram intakes for many toy applications including the 3.0 and i think they also sell the round to square adapter for the maf

I think pep boys sells the adapter in their "shiney parts/tuner section" Personally if you wheel and or like dirt roads or dusty environments I wouldnt put a cold air/open element filter system on. It really doesnt do much to begin with. If you are spending the money just go with a snorkel. I speak from expericence on this and i wish i did a snorkel instead!
