82 and 85 front axles

In comarison how similiar is a front axle on an 82 to an 85? why I ask is because i have an 82 truck with the mechanics shop service manual from toyota corp. A buddy of mine wants to rebuild his front axle on his 85, he wants to take it apart sandblast it paint it and change ot the bearings and seals etc....
do they come apart the same? are parts innerchangeable between the years or what. I want to go by the manual i have to take it apart but I don't know if its the same or should i find a manual on 85 axles

The only difference is the later axles have more gussets on the outside to make the housing a little stronger. Everything else is the same.
