As I was putting on my 3 inch body lift, on my 1986 Toyota 4Runner today, but I ran into a problem with my steering column. I was able to easily pull it out of my 4Runner but I had trouble extending it. I drilled out the old pins but it still won't extend out. I used a 1/8 inch drill bit to drill out the old pins. How do I get my steering column to extend?

There should have been an extention that goes on the gear box. I remember i had a tuff time. Also did you put in the relocation plate that goes on the firewall where the column goes through?
After you loosen the clamp i believe on the slip shaft it should come apart. But i think i was havingn an issue cuase of the plate that goes on the firewall. For some reason without the plate it wouldnt extend. Just play with it some more or get some fresh eyes to look at.
