the 2 small metal tubes that goes from the exhaust around the back of the head and hooks up under the intake manifold, what will happen if i leave that off and plug the holes up at the exhaust, i am sure that is emission stuff, but just wandering if anyone has done anything there, i am going with a weber carb and a header and a performance cam

They are for the EGR I believe. You can get block-off plates.I believe that LC Engineering sells them but they will rape you with shipping charges that they don't tell you about until they charge your credit card and it's a rip off.My friend paid $18 for a $20 part that weighed one pound and they use UPS ground.
