Hi,
Maybe a stupid question, but how do I get to know if I have a 2 pinion or 4 pinion rear diff? I have a 1991 V6 3.0 auto Surf and I'd like to buy a Lock Right for the rear but there are 2 models, the 2 pinion and the 4 pinion and since here we don't have a dealer but I have to have it sent to me from abroad, I don't want to buy the wrong one!
Thanks
Dave

A V6 equipped will have a 4 pinion diff from the factory.
Look at the axle code on the VIN plate. It should be a number like G25x, where x=2 for 2 pinion and x=4 for 4 pinion

I would have thought he meant G252 for a 2 pinion and G254 for the 4 pinion. Thats how I read it.

Silly me! Must've been too tired to think when you wrote that! Sorry! WOW! I always thought I had a 4.11 diff before reading the code on the VIN plate since here it's always said that a V6 Surf 1991 comes out with such a ratio! Will have to decide what ratio to fit then since I'm fitting 33"s. It's already a bit too sluggish with 31"s! I was thinking of 4.88, but now I think I'd better go for 5.29! Off to the Lockers and Gears section ...
