how and what V6 to put in an 85 4Runner

OK so here's my dilemma I have an '85 4Runner with a 22RE in it that's on its last legs and I want to put a V6 in it to get some more power. Problem is I have a stock Auto tranny and drive line. What V6 would be best to throw in there and would I have to replace my tranny and drive line as well?

I am VERY new to 4X4 world and loving it I Just bought this 4Runner last year and have taken it to the ORV park all of 4 times just to get a feel for it but was worried about taking it out to many times because of the engine.

It had some work done on it by the previous owner, new head gasket and what not, but it still runs like crap. I am not a very mechanical person yet but I am learning. I have replaced the plugs and wires myself

There is a lift on it as well. I will get some pics to put up hopefully tomorrow. I do have some vids of it in action on youtube found here
