I found a J**P Wagoneer today at a junk yard while buyin like a million windows for my Runner. If im not mistaken, and if i am please correct me, its a D44. I didnt have any kind of measuring device so I couldnt get the lug measurements, but it is a 6lug pattern. And of course the only drawback would be it being a driverside pumpkin. Ok got another question?? I also found a Dodge Ramcharger. And well it has a passenger side pumpkin, can i switch the outers from the J**P to the Dodge so i can keep the 6lug pattern? I really dont see y not they are the same company kindof, but yes different i know.

The hubs on the dana 44 are changeable from 5 lug to 6 lug. I would probably recommend that you just get new hubs with bearings. I got some from O'Reilly Auto parts for just over $220. YOu might post up in the tacoma column about finding a wagoneer dana 44. I know those guys are always looking for a driver side drop 44.

Ok, So if i were to go to the autoparts, What would i ask for to get different hubs to change the lug pattern for the ramcharger axle. Also what would be a good price for each axle, if i were to buy them at the yard?

Well it really depends on the condition of the axle. I have seen them go for $150 up to $300. You can check out some tacoma forums and see what they are going for or if there is an interest. When converting to 6 lug you will probably ask for hubs from a 76-78 K5 blazer or GM. If you don't go to autozone who will ask the color of the vehicle and then tell you it won't fit for what you want, they can help you out. Advanced or O'reilly tend to be more helpful if you tell them it is for a dana 44. Pull the hubs out of the dodge axle and compare the ones you pick up and make sure they fit. When I converted to 5 lug I told them it was for a big bronco which used the dana 44. I got the right ones I needed.

Ok ive done a lil researching. First off, I found that there were two types of front axles offered, the dana 35 & dana 44. How do u tell them apart?? The 44 has a 6"x5.5" lug pattern, same as toyota. Would toyota rims fit? The WideTrack width is 65.5" and Narrow Track is 59.2". Are these two different axles or measured at a different place? What is the axle width of a Toy V6 rear? I think its 59"s . Im not really sure which axle i would like, cause im the future i would like a Ford Drivetrain, so the driverside diff. off the Waggy would be a big benifit. But if i keep my drivetrain the Dodge Ramchargers passenger diff. will be my answer. I dunno yet im still thinking and researching. - Laterz

www.offroaders.com/info/tech-corner/facts/axles/axle.htmThat might help on the dodge stuff. Has a listing of axles for makes. The 6 lug 44 will fit toyota lug pattern. Toyota uses a 5.5" 6 lug. Actually the wide 44 measures 68" wms-wms. Thats the one I used. There are different measurments floating around but thats what mine measured.

But your 44 is from a chevy, I was thinking that since the width for the waggy44 is 65.5", and the toy rear is 59" i would add 3" spacers on each side which would bring me 1/2" shorter than the 44. I know that spacers arent recomended, but this would just be a solution for awhile. I tried looking for the width of the Ramcharger but couldnt find it, is it that same are you 44??
