Scored this yesterday, 89 SR5, cherry, rust free frame, 22RE/auto. Under $1K, motor has bad knock, but have new one lined up already ;D No, the beadlocked 33's not included.

Nice 4Runner! Looks like the body isn't in bad shape at all. I'm a big fan of the first generation Runners.

Actually, this one is going to be a DD too.
It has an auto and the AC works.
Rather put money in that instead of my POS Maxima.

Rather put money in that instead of my POS Maxima. lol Mine also has the auto trans as well as working AC. ;D Does this mean we're getting old. I don't know about you but I'm getting tired of working the clutch in traffic anymore.Or am I just getting even lazier than I thought I could. ;D All mine needs is a radiator which I already had.The BFG a/t's still have a very good amount of tread left. The only rust I found was the inner lip of the rear wheelhouse. The factory paint(frame) is still in good shape even around the fuel tank.Probably the same as you.I wasn't really looking to buy anything right now but it was presented to me and for knowing the only owner and knowing the trucks entire history I just couldn't let it go.Now for the test drive,I'm going to drive mine to FLA.

I just looked it up, it has 4.30 gears and a 2.66:1 low range in the t-case. That's better than the 2.28:1 in the manual's t-case.

I also just ran the vin# and I got the exact same set-up with mine. So fourwd1 what do you say we take our low-range"stockers" to the Jambo and run black level trails all weekend ;D NOT! ;D

I'm not sure how fourwd1 looks up his info. But I work at a dealership and use either the parts catalog or I run it through the corporate system. Then I can cross refference the codes. If you like you can PM me your vin # and I should be able to brake it down for you. btw fourwd1 what do you have in mind for the motor? I remember you stating that the engine has a real bad knock

The gears I already new should be 4.30 because it's an auto (auto's are typically 1 step lower than a manual). I was just verifing it using the axle code on the VIN sticker. G282 is the code for a 4 cyl rear w/4.30 gears. I forget how I know the auto's t-case low range gear ratio It's a totally different beast. The auto trans and t-case are one piece.
