to bad you all are so far away...we should all have a wheelin get together sometime for all the tor ppl Keep that thought. ;D A group from our local club(rightcoast 4x4) is heading your way. Most every year we do a roadtrip. This year we didn't do this because of all of the re-build work that's been done and still going on.But this time around we will be hitting the road and Harlan is on the list.

Well the holidays are over and things are going back to normal. So I got the truck into the shop last weekend and finally started the rear suspension.I removed the old leafs, shackles and forward mounts.I got the 63" chevies mocked up.I have the front hangers held in place with C-clamps until I get the rear shackle mounts re-located.I'm mounting them to the end of the frame opposed to under the frame. This will move the rear axle back about 2.5" and when the rear leafs get mounted up front the front axle will be moved 2 to 3".My wheelbase started at 103" now It'll be around 107" with a very very low COG. I might have 3" of lift and for now I'm running 35 x14 Swampers but I should be able to run 37's/38's with just some fender trimming ;D rocktoy and cc89iroc gave me a hand and they had a couple of very good ideas.cc89iroc suggested to mount the rear shackles on the very end of the frame instead of under as seen on some of the F-Toys.This does a couple of things 1.it helps to move the axle further back 2.it helps keep the shackle at the correct angle and it may(wont know for sure until I'm done) keep me from having to use too long of a shackle.Bud from BudBuilt gave me hand by sending me some shackle's and some swag(Thanks Bud!) Bud was very helpful in that since I don't have access to a good drillpress he was kind enough to pre-drill an extra hole in the rear shackles for me.For I'm not sure how different my box frame is from a factory frame dimension wise and didn't want to find out at the last minute that I needed a hole in another location. If I can get a new liner for the wire feed on the welder I can get everything welded up and start on the front suspension/steering.

Yeah I do need to get some updated pics.I keep forgetting the camera. I hope to have the front suspension and the steering done this weekend.I can get this stuff done without a welder so at least I can accomplish something.I may not have access to the shop after next month the lease is up and I'm not sure Bill is going to re-new it or not and if I don't get certain things done I'm screwed. The biggest issue I have is that the welder is messed up.If need be I'll go to the local rent-all and rent one.

We need some pics... sounds like ur progressing nicely I'm screwed again! I had to part it out/scrap it.We no longer have a shop and I had nowhere to store it even temporary. So I sold off some parts and kept some of the harder to replace items like the lower geared tranny the doublers and the 4.88's with detroit lockers and a few other misc stuff.I'm going to find a truck in FLA when I go to my other house since I have a garage down there and can do as I please. It will be a very slow build but no one can get in my way and screw up the program unlike my last two attemps.I will only have a total of three long weeks a year to work on it but it WILL BE DONE!

I'm sooo bummed out and heart broken about this I don't know where to begin. I have one last hope at being able to keep it but I wont know until the end of next week. Then it goes to the scrap yard to be crushed. Which is a damn shame because there isn't one bit of rust on this cab.I have one of the body shops that buys from me and owe me a few favors and they're trying to figure out a way to help me out but it's kind of a long shot.(they have very limited space) So we shall see if I have any luck/karma on my side for a change.

Good Luck. Hope something can be worked out. If you feel like taking a road trip, I've got space. If I could get a tow rig and trailer that was capable of making that long of a haul I would do it in a heartbeat bro! ;D In fact if it wasn't for your states firearms laws I would move there. My other escape is to find a place that will let me store it there until I can get the arrangements made to transport it down to FLA.
