They have an entry form in one of the issues leading up to it. They print pics and specs of the entries and then readers vote for their favorites and the ones that receive the most votes get in.

;D Exactly. And you better come prepared! This event is no joke. I've seen(video) everyone & it never ceases to amaze me. Later...

I think they actually put the form in almost a year before the event. Should be named the "spare truck challenge"

;D How 'bout the mini-Rubicon? Or the frame twister? Or the Tow comp.? Or the mud pit? The Tank Trap is the last event & you've gotta make it there. The Frame Twister is absolutely brutal!!! I don't want to discourage you but...this event is the toughest one around that I've seen. Bar none!! Your peers vote for you to do what thay can't/won't. Later...

There was an IFS equipped Toyota a couple years ago. It did brutal, broke right away on rocks. If you are going to compete in that event successfully, there are going to few stock parts left on your truck. We're talking 1 ton axles or bigger, rear steer, hydraulic steering and a minunum 42" tires or bigger to have any real chance. Then you need some real horse power to move that around because there are power related events as well as slow technical trials.
