I own a 1996 tacoma and it has struts, and recently bought the superlift suspension lift kit and it came with shocks for the front. The kit works on years 89-96 but I cant see how it would work. Did the 95 toyota trucks have just shocks and not struts?

You fawked up. The tacoma is a totally different spring setup then the 86-95 trucks and 4runners. They changed from a torsion bar front susupension, to a coil over front suspension. A strut actually replaces the upper ball joint. I'm not sure if the Tacoma setup is like that, which is why I call it a coilover. The kit you need will includea spacers for the coils that you already have, or replacement coilover shocks.
If you can, return it, if not you will be stuck trying to sell it.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

what about just modifying the kit? it looks like all that I would have to do is bring the coilover's down. We have enough tools to do the job (welders, milling machine, etc) It looks like that's the only thing that wont fit from that kit.
